Stuart Sachs

Stuart H. Sachs is a registered Landscape Architect in Connecticut and New York and has been involved with public, private, and academic service for over 35 years.  His range of completed design projects includes services for municipal, institutional and private facilities. Among the recently completed office planning projects are the Mill Hill NRZ Plan and the East Side NRZ Plan. Both of these projects included extensive community participation meetings and workshops that help drive schematic designs in support of a desired neighborhood plan.

Among Stuart’s present community services are the State University of New York, School of Landscape Architecture Faculty Advisory Committee; University of Connecticut, Department of Landscape Architecture Faculty Advisory Committee, tenure track review committee, guest lecturing, and numerous student project design juries; a member of the Black Rock Community Council Steering Committee, and Chairman of the Fayerweather Lighthouse Restoration Committee; and, executive board and founding member of Groundwork Bridgeport. He currently serves as Chairman of the City of Bridgeport Historic District #1 Commission. His previous services included being Vice-Chair of the Bridgeport Master Plan Steering Committee; Co-Chair of the AIA – Sustainable Design Assessment Team (AIA-SDAT) and, as representative for the CT Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the CT Urban Forestry Council.
